The firm has a substantial probate and trust practice. For example, over the course of eleven years, Scanlan, Buckle & Young, P.C. and its predecessor entities represented a testamentary trust and various beneficiaries of that trust which was being judicially administered.

During the course of that representation, the firm represented several of the beneficiaries in multifarious disputes that arose regarding the distribution rights of various beneficiaries, numerous judicial proceedings construing various provisions in the testamentary trust, generation skipping tax impacts from modifying trust provisions, challenges to the spend thrift provision in the trust, decisions regarding the management of real property and mineral interest assets of the trusts, and equalization of distributions to various beneficiaries at the termination of the trusts.
