A substantial portion of the law firm's practice is devoted to the representation of local governmental units, including municipalities and emergency services districts. During the past 30 years, Scanlan, Buckle & Young, P.C. and its predecessor law firms have represented  six cities in Travis County as their city attorney and have been employed by six other cities in Travis County to represent them on specific matters. The law firm also frequently represents individuals and entities in litigation and before those local governmental bodies which it does not otherwise represent.
